Combined Training
Combined training is a competition which includes riding a dressage test and jumping a round of show jumps.

The winner having the highest percentage and the least amount if any showjumping penalties.

To qualify for the National Championships competitors must qualify out of their own area first (Area 2).
Tetrathlon
The Tetrathlon competition involves four stages - running, swimming, shooting and XC riding and for many it is a natural progression from Minimus. It is run over 2 days and is for teams of 4 and an individual competition for both boys & girls.

Juniors are under 15 on Jan. 1st (90cm)

Seniors under 21 on Jan 1st (1.05m).

Competitors swim for 3 minutes, run 1500m and compete on a cross country course, height determined by age as above.

Children must have their C test to partake.
Hunter Trials
Hunter trials are cross country (XC) competitions where competitors aim to make the fastest/optimum time. Riders can compete individually, pairs or teams of three.

At Easter each year the IPC Hunter Trial Championships take place.

Qualification is not required but you will need to be signed off by the District Commissioner as competent
Mounted Games
Mounted Games is a team competition that requires courage, determination and all round riding ability from team members in combination with the careful and systematic training of their ponies. Teams consist of five members participating in a variety of games where speed and breath-taking accuracy are the norm
Jockey Skills
Ten Pony Club members are selected to participate in the course at the world renowned Racing Academy and Centre of Education (RACE) in Kildare town prior to the Race Day

The overall winner of the Jockey Skills course will be announced at the Race Day. During the exhibition race at the Curragh, the members who completed the Jockey Skills course will ride the pony/horse they usually ride at Pony Club activities.
